In Mark 6:1–6, Jesus returns to Nazareth, the town where He grew up. The people are astonished by His wisdom and mighty works, yet they refuse to believe. Rather than bowing before the Son of God, they stumble over His ordinary background and take offense at Him. This passage reminds us that familiarity with Jesus is not the same as faith in Jesus. The people of Nazareth had every opportunity to receive Christ, yet their unbelief caused Him to marvel. What does this teach us about our own hearts? Are we willing to submit to God’s Word, repent of our sin, and follow Christ wherever He leads? Join us as we examine Christ’s rejection at Nazareth, the danger of unbelief, and the glorious hope found in the Savior whom many despised and rejected.
