What can Jesus do with a completely ruined sinner? In Mark 5:1–20, we witness one of the most powerful displays of Christ’s authority and mercy in all of Scripture. A man possessed by a legion of demons… isolated among the tombs… feared by everyone around him… is completely transformed by the Lord Jesus Christ. This passage is not ultimately about magnifying Satan or demons… it is about magnifying the absolute supremacy of Jesus Christ over every power of darkness. Where sin brings misery, bondage, and death… Christ brings peace, restoration, and life. In this sermon, we walk through three major truths:
* The misery of Satan’s tyranny over man
* The supreme authority of Christ over Satan
* The complete deliverance found in Christ The same Christ who crossed the sea to rescue this broken man is still mighty to save sinners today.
