Grace is not passive. Grace is not permissive. Grace is powerful. In Titus 2:11–15, the Apostle Paul shows us the full scope of God’s saving grace — grace that appeared in Christ, trains believers in godliness, and sustains us as we wait for glory. In this sermon, we see that:
• Grace does not merely save us from sin, but trains us to renounce it
• Christian obedience flows from grace, not fear or self-effort
• The Christian life is lived in the tension of already redeemed and not yet glorified
• Our hope is not an event, but a Person — the appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ
• Christ redeemed us from lawlessness to make us a purified people, zealous for good works
• The gospel must be declared with authority, clarity, and courage
This passage reminds us that grace does not excuse rebellion — it breaks it. Grace does not abolish holiness — it produces it. And grace does not leave us hopeless — it fixes our eyes on the return of Christ.
